Exec Exclusive: Kiannah Lagunas

Hi everyone! My name is Kiannah Lagunas and I am the Member Development Vice President of Alpha Xi Delta!! My team and I are in charge of academics, ritual, and programs for the chapter in order to help "develop our members." I plan our annual Desserts with Professors event each semester, where we invite our professors to the house for sweet desserts to celebrate our academic achievements. I also co-organize our end-of-semester chapter dinner (Holiday Dinner/Quill Dinner) with our House Mom, Marge. We give out lots of prizes and awards while having one last meal with our sisters before we go home for break. My awesome Member Development team also helps me handle all the ceremonies and programs for the chapter!

Here’s a little bit about me! I am a sophomore Biology major from Spring, Texas (suburb of Houston), and I hope to go to Optometry School after I graduate. I really love getting pepperoni pizza and ice cream milkshakes from the food trucks next to Xi House! I have watched “Grey’s Anatomy” on Netflix at least 3 times through, and I love “How To Get Away With Murder” and “Jane the Virgin” with a passion!! When I’m not having fun watching TV or eating out with my sisters, you can find me volunteering at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired! I just started volunteering there this semester, but it has been such a great and rewarding experience for me.

I am so thankful to be serving on the Executive Committee for the second year in a row! Alpha Xi Delta means so much to me that it’s hard to describe it in words. It’s the place where I have felt at home since I walked in the doors during recruitment. It’s the place where I am surrounded by women who are encouraging me to be the best person I can be. It’s the place that I have found my best friends. Years from now, I will look back at my time here at UT and remember all of the great memories I have made with my sisters, wishing I could do it all again. Being a part of Greek Life and this sorority has made a huge impact on my college career. Without all the support and love from my sisters, my college experience would not be as great as it is now. I could not be happier to be a member of Alpha Xi Delta.

XOXI,

Kiannah
