SPRING 2021, WE LOVE YOU!
Beta Alpha is excited to share some of the exciting things that our chapter accomplished in our Spring 2021 semester! After a whirlwind of a year, we are so glad to have had this past semester of transitioning back to normal.
BID DAY
Bid Day was a success for Spring 2021! We were so excited to bring home 5 new members with a space cowgirl-themed celebration at the house. With a super cute balloon arch, a yummy taco stand, and some awesome new merch, we lasso'ed some new Alpha Xi's home to 2508 Rio Grande.
Officially Xi!
On April 4, 2021, we were able to initiate 5 sisters into the Beta Alpha chapter! While the ceremony was online, the membership class of fall 2021 was able to celebrate the day with their bigs and family members. We thank our 2021 New Member Orientation team, Member Development team, and our advisors for giving a special initiation to our new initiates!

Sweet Galentines!
Though we had to push this event out a little past Valentine’s Day weekend due to the snowstorm, the Chapter Life team put on such a sweet event for our girls to celebrate their friendships with one another. Beta Alpha was able to meet at the Junior League of Austin in different time slots to write cards for sisters, enjoy a coffee tab and popsicles, take photos at the photo wall, and decorate cupcakes for the road!
Aces with Alpha Xi & Taco Xi
This semester we were finally able to hold in-person philanthropy events! During Autism Acceptance Month (April) we held two of our biggest philanthropic events. Our first event was Aces with Alpha Xi! Our sisters made teams with their peers in and outside of the chapter to compete in a sand volleyball tournament. The Team Set on Beach won a special prize after winning the entire tournament and Team MOD raised the most money for Autism Speaks!
Our second event was our annual Taco Xi! Our sisters invited friends to eat unlimited tacos at 2508. Our sisters also had the chance to dunk our executive team in a dunk tank! The Alpha Xis had fun sharing tacos with friends and sisters.
Somewhere on Lake Travis...
Towards the end of our spring semester, our juniors and seniors got together to celebrate the end of the year on a boat trip on Lake Travis. Our sisters had the chance to be all together one last time before seniors graduated and summer began. The upperclassmen time-traveled back to the 2000s by taking pictures on a digital camera rather than their phones (see pictures below).
They had fun sliding down the water slide, swimming in the lake, and getting their tan on! It was so great to see our Alpha Xis end the semester on a high note and get to celebrate that with one and another in a fun, unique way!
Parents' Weekend
Parents’ Weekend was a hit this year with several celebrations over the weekend! The Chapter Life team once again outdid themselves with so many activities for parents and daughters to enjoy. That Friday evening was an incredible, individual cheese board pickup from the house along with amazing cookies. Saturday was a celebration at The Cathedral in East Austin with donuts, coffee, and activities for all to participate. Lastly, Sunday wrapped up parents’ weekend with an awesome coffee tab at Mozart’s for everyone. We are so grateful for our parents who do so much for us and our girls, and we hope it was a great weekend for everyone!
Formal Fun!
This year’s formal was incredible! We were able to host this event at a spacious venue on Congress with a churro cart, dance floor, beautiful photo opportunities, a DJ, and a cash bar. We were so happy to see so many girls at formal alongside their dates, and even happier to keep it safe requiring negative COVID tests or proofs of vaccinations at the door. Despite the rain during the event, it was an unforgettable night.

We are excited to head into Summer with our sisters and look forward to our preparations towards Fall recruitment. We cannot thank our alumnae base and families enough for all of your support during this past semester. We appreciate you beyond belief! Here’s to having a relaxing Summer!
